Beaver Lake

So, while I'm waiting on B to get back with the camera, I'll go ahead and post some pics from our Arkansas trip with Blake, Ang, & Baby Colt from a few weeks back. We had a blast just hanging out in their gorrrgeous lakehouse that overlooked the hugest lake I've ever seen. It just weaved around all of the mountains and looked like it had no end. It was beautiful. Some of the prettiest sunrises I've ever seen :)

We spent one of our days at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. It was really cool! I couldn't ride rides because of the belly (bummer!), but it was superrrrrr festive, REALLY got us in the Christmas spirit, tons of delicious food....we will definitely take our kids there someday! The drive to and from Branson is another story. We all had to take turns sitting in the front seat because the road was soooo insanely windy that we all felt sick at some point along the way. Boooo.

Although we watched Colt (McCoy) lost the Heisman race while we were there, we had a great time. Thanks Ang and Blake for a super great and relaxing time. Colt is presh, so happy and smiley. And his poop face is an image I will never forget :))) LOVE you guys!

Holiday Movie Marathon!!

Vince Vaughn humor = im a fan. I'll admit it's not the greatest, highest-quality, most well-written movie ever, but if you expect that when you choose to see THIS particular movie, you might need to rethink your options :) Anyway- I'm not sure it's worth the hefty price of the movie theaters, but hey...if mom & dad are paying... why not?

First off, I'm just an Adam Sandler fan. However, this is NOT your typical Adam Sandler movie. It's much more tame, intended for children humor...which is nice. It's clean, it's whimsical, and it's fun. Try to revert back to your childhood days, and I'm sure you'll totally enjoy :) We had a group ranging from 4 years old to 45...and we were all fans!

So I'm JUST NOW seeing this super fun musical movie! Sad, I know. I had heard allll about how amazing it was...so my expectations were high. To be honest, it was a bit difficult for me to get beyond the non-Broadway-quality voices...but it really was super cute and fun. The music: I already knew and liked...so that was a guaranteed plus. Main character= super cute. Everyone really did a great job being pretty hilar. I might even add it to my personal DVD collection (which is rare!)

Saw it in theaters, but got it for Christmas, so I watched it again. GOODNESS. Such a great movie. It was even better for me the second time around because I recently read an autobiography about a little boy from the Sudan who was kidnapped, turned into a child soldier, and then rescued and brought to the US. This movie takes place in the same time frame, in the midst of the same civil war, but adds the diamond smuggling industry to the mix. It's heart-breaking, redeeming, encouraging, convicting, depressing...a little bit of everything! But...it paints a realistic picture about Africa's recent history. Educational is the best way I can describe it. Oh- and Leo and Djimon are both amaaaaaaazing in this one!

PREGNANCY...in all her glory <3

BOOOO for pregnancy breakouts. My chin looks like a 16-yr-old's.

Today at the gym I had my very first (not to mention, very BOLD) "Are you pregnant?" It made me happy!

I like calling my belly a "her" instead of "it".

Since I can't do an all-over dye on my hair during pregnancy, I am SERIOUSLY considering getting my hurr did...by a professional. The roots are OOC, and if I highlight it myself without putting some darker color in it first, I'll look nice and trashy.

An email I received today from Parents.com informed me that as a pregnant woman, I need to do the following:
  1. Get a pedicure.
  2. Get my hurr did.
  3. Buy some new lingerie

I'm surrrre that #s "1" and "2" can be arranged...however, I'll edit #3 a bit and just get a new bra since most of mine don't fit anymore! Life with boobs is interesting...I'll have to share a funny little story about that next time.

Merry Thursday to all, and to all a GOOOOODnight :)

Christmas Fiesta!

On Monday night, I hosted the girls from work at my house for a Christmas Partay/Gift Exchange/Gingerbread House Decorating Contest. Sadly, I forgot to take pics of the cute food & treats display as I am SUPER rusty in the picture-taking department...but I got some cuties of the girls and our awesome g-bread homes. They didn't QUITE turn out like our blueprints...but that's what you get when you have 3 girls trying to decorate one house...and eating half of the decor :) It was a night full of a yummy healthy dinner, wayyyyy too many cupcakes, a semi-functional chocolate fountain, fun gifts, LOTS of icing, delectable home-made hot cocoa...and some major Christmas spirit!
All the girls :)

In case you were wondering...

So, our ultrasound appointment yesterday was the bommmmbbb!! :) We found out that on May 8, 2009 (or somewhere around there) little Avery Nicole Bradford will be joining our fam!! WE. ARE. PUMPED. It was superrrr cool to watch her squirm around on the screen. She was alllll curled up for most of the time, but we finally got her to start moving around. She even gave us a big, ADORABLE yawn :) Ahhhh, I'm in love. I wish we caught her yawn on the camera, but we didn't quite make it. Time to start thinking "bAby RoOm!!" I was actually telling Brian last night that, as selfish as it is, the baby thing I'm MOST excited about getting is a jogging stroller so Avery and I can go outside, be happy, & play in the sun together!

In other news, I finished my Patho class today. Took the final. Donesky. Awesome. OH- and I don't know if I have shared this news with the blog world, but I will no longer be attending nursing school in January. I have come to realize over the last couple of months that as excited as I was about nursing SCHOOL, a nursing career is not something I want for my life. Plus, I absolutely loovvvve my current job, and am ecstatic about having more time to give to it (until Avery comes along). Brian and I talked about it quite a bit, prayed about it, lots of things went into it, and for now- this is the conclusion we came to, and we both feel GREAT, happy, and super peaceful... can't beat that peaceful easy feeling :)
Brian's company, Pfizer, is having a giant restructuring and layoff in January. They'll let everyone know their fate at the beginning of the month and any changes will take effect in March. Keep us in your prayers, as we know we have NO control over the company's decisions! We're not worried, but we know that some big changes could be in store for us, and we just pray that God is preparing us in every way for whatever is to come!

* * * * * * * * * *
There have been quite a few somewhat recent events from which I never posted pics... I think I'll just feature one recent event at the end of each post for the next week or so...so I'll have some pic updates FINALLY!
The first: DaNe & juLiE's wEdDiNg was in November. Everyone had a BLAST...and being back in Austin was super cool too. Got to see lots of fam & friends that we love a LOT <3
We missed you Reidster! Can't wait til you're back in Tejas!
Nickybabe and his new VERY pretty wifey, KimWIth the super good-looking bride and groom <3

Feedback requested! :)

Since this is the time of year that people start to "get serious" about their fitness/health, I know I'll be picking up a few new clients come January. What are some of the issues you guys have with your weight/workout routine/eating habits? Are there any cool new ideas/workouts you've heard buzzing lately? If you had a personal trainer, what would you want from them besides just a good workout for an hour a few times a week? What kind of questions would you have? What kind of things would make it more fun and motivating for you to STAY fit...not just do it for 3 months. What could your trainer do for you that would make him/her EXTRA worth the money!? :)

Anyyyyyy thoughts??

Picture Tag

I got tagged by Mer...so here ya go: The following pic is from Reid's senior year of high school football. Brian and I went to The Shoog to see their 3rd round playoff game against Katy. They lost, but it was a super great season, and we were proud of little Reidling! PS- He's #50...noseguard. Yay.

And...a looonnnng while back I was tagged by Jacci, but at the time our computer was messed up, so I had no access to any pics. Anyway- that one was Folder/Pic #8...which is the following:

Every year, the Curry and Freede fams go on our Annual Easter Camping trip to Pedernales Falls. This is from Easter 2007, when we were forced to keep approx 25 people in a little house on the the Agan's ranch because the weather was so terrible. It SNOWED, we lost power, we played lots of mafia, and just acted a fool. It was awesome...and me and Nug obviously thoroughly enjoyed the snow (as you can see!)

So...now I tag: Ivy, Jamie Blackburn, Nug, & Loobs

You must do the following:

1. Open the 4th folder in your "My Pictures" folder...or whatever location you keep your pics on the computer.

2. Open the 4th picture in the folder and upload it to your blog.

3. Tell us allll about the pic!!

4. Tag 4 more people to do the same!!

Have fun :) Don't CHEAT!! It's okay if your pic is random and pointless... :)

On the road again... (as always!)

As much as Brian and I enjoyed our amaaazing weekend at home, we are thrilled to leave tonight to head to Arkansas with some friends. We'll be spending the weekend at their Lakehouse...and all 5 of us are making the trip together in our little Impala! Blake and Angela have a baby boy who is around 8 months old... so I'm pumped to get a little taste of life with a munchkin!! :))) I am NOT, however, super thrilled about the prospect of freezing my fingers off for a whole weekend. I'm about to bust open the ski-gear trunk and get to packing. I don't mind looking a fool as long as it keeps me warm :)

EXCITING UPDATE!!! -I didn't find the camera cord to put pics on the computer, I DID however, find the little chip that fits our computer's memory drive sooooooo...do you know what this means!??!!? Starting Monday, I WILL ONCE AGAIN BE POSTING PICS!!! So, for those of you who have forgotten what Brian and I look like: Have no fear! Come Monday, our smiling faces will be only a click away :)

Have a super fun, festive, cozy, hayride-enjoying, christmas-carol-singing, study-free weekend!!

Nothin' like a weekend at home sweet home <3

This weekend was teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrific :) Brian and I just stayed at home, and I haven't been so pumped to be here in a LONG time! On Friday afternoon Brian put up lights on our house...yayyy! He did a super good job...especially for his first house-decorating job :) Way to go, hubling! We ALSO made a long-awaited purchase. Brian has been freakishly addicted to rock band for quite some time now. He plays on Monday nights with a bunch of other 30-yr old men after watching MNF, and has been DYING to get it. So, he used some of his bonus money to guy the game...and it rocks!! I totally didn't think I'd be a huge fan, but it's the bomb. We have played every day so far since we got it.

On Saturday morning, we both slept in til almost 10:00!! Ahhhh it was an amazing feeling to wake up @ 4 different times and just lay there and fall right back asleep. We had some yummy Braums for lunch and then worked allllllllll day in the backyard and on unpacking/organizing the house. We still have quite a bit of work to do, but man- we were ULTRAproductive and it felt great. We had planned FOREVER to go see the 20th anniv production of The Nutcracker (one of my all-time favs), but didn't realize that it was during the conference championship games, so we ended up nixing the ballet and watching football all afternoon/night. Good times.

Sunday we went to church IN TYLER for once, had some delish McAllister's, knocked a couple more much-needed errands, and then worked on the house even MORE! Today is a GREAT Monday because I actually feel somewhat relaxed and NOT overwhelmed when I look at our steadily-shrinking pile of boxes to unpack :)

Yayyy for weekend at home.

Oh, ps- we find out in EIGHT DAYS!!!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Thanksgiving was AWWWWESOME! Brian and I spent Tuesday night in Lufkin with the Bradfords and then headed to the Shoog on Wednesday morning. We spent 5 days of bliss in good ol' Sugar Land doing all kinds of fun things: eating, sleeping, watching football, eating, working out, playing with the dogs, eating.... you know how it is over Thanksgiving :)

It was jussst fabulous to be with Rachey, Rand, Rileton, and Reidy-boo. We went to see Four Christmases... PRETTY silly, but of course I liked it. I think Vince Vaughn is hilar...always. Love the guy. Annnd on Friday night, our fam went to the Freedes. The kiddos played golf (a fun new card game I learned and love) while the adults played Wii... oh man. It was great. Our parentals were jumping around the room, screaming, grunting, flailing. Pure entertainment. Rachey's arm was QUITE sore the next day.

On Saturday my mom and I dragged (and I mean that literally) our hubbies kicking and screaming to a wedding. Schwinnybabe got married...she is now Mrs. Lindsay Gentles, ha, funny name. We enjoyed cracking jokes about that one all night. B and I headed over to a great couple friends' house to watch the OU-OSU game. It was 3 couples...all 3 preggers! They're both farther along than me so it was great to grill them with questions :)

OH! Also over T-giv break, my wedding video finalllllllllllly arrived!! Yayyy!! I've watched it twice already. We even subjected the Freede/Agan fam to the whole thing ha. Artista media did a great job with the video...it just took a while. Oh well. He even got some SUPER important shots that our photog didn't capture. So it worked out perfectly :)

Happy Hump-day everyone!

Falalalalaaaa

I decided today that I'm having an ornament exchange at my house in 2 weeks for some of my girls here in Tyler. I'm pumped!! I love ornaments. I love friends. I'll FINALLY get to use my FAV wedding gift...my chocolate fountain!! Oh...and we're gonna have a gingerbread house decorating contest (thanks Freede fam for inspiring that one). Can't wait.

The NEXT day we find out if we're having a boy or a girl...YAYYY for Tuesday, Dec.16th!!

The following weekend, my parentals and bros are coming to stay with us in Tyler to have our Curry Christmas. Superrrrrrr excited about that one too. Our first official guests in our new house!

And then, of course, it's CHRISTMAS WEEK with the Bradfords. It's the year for the Big Bradford Christmas, and Brian and I are super pumped. I can't believe it's already Christmas season, 2008.

16 Weeks

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Prayers...

Yesterday there was a major explosion and fire at an oil refinery in Tyler. It has affected quite a few of our friends and coworkers, although mostly just has caused a scare. However, Brian's partner John, experienced a terrible loss this morning. His brother, one of the 2 critically injured, died after being life-flighted to a Dallas burn unit. It would mean a lot if you could keep John and all of the Sherman family in your prayers.

Yay for Internet

Internet's fixed...yay!!

Went to the doc yesterday. Finally gained some weight...yay!! Got a flu and a tetanus shot...ouch. My arms are sore.

Last weekend in The Shoog, I attended Schwinny-babe's bach-ette partay. I was the pregnant-girl-DD. Fun times :) I didn't have my camera so I'm still waiting on ppl to post pics.

We leave for Austin today for DANE AND JULIE'S WEDDINNNNGGG!!! Yayyyyy :)

Tony Romo

Okay, seriously. The more I hear about this guy, the more I like him! I have a friend with some connections to him (through his brother) who says that he is really truly just a kind-hearted and humble person, and that he has somehow not let his fame change who he is. I read a story a while back about Romo stopping on the side of the road on his way home from a Sunday game to help a couple change their flat. Everything that Jessica Simpson says about him paints him as this humble, grounded, confident, and NORMAL guy. And then there's this story (click on the post title to see the article.) He went to the movies and saw a homeless guy standing out front. So, he invited him to come in with him to see "Role s". I know it shouldn't be THAT impressive, as there are people who do these types of things all the time, but it's just REFRESHING to see that someone with tons of success, money, and fame can maintain humility and compassion. Yay, Tony :)

Shots...OUCH.

Our internet at our house hasn't been working allll week, so they're FINALLY supposed to come out this afternoon. GOODNESS! It's killin me. So I'm at work in the trainers' office right now. I have another doc appointment today, no ultrasound though. Just a bellycheck. BOORRRINNNNGGG. Oh- but I have to get a TETANUS shot and a TB test. YUCK!! If I remember correctly, from 12 years ago when I got my LAST Tetanus, they burn and make you totally sore. I think if I work out after I get it, it should prevent some of the soreness from occuring though...so I'm headed STRAIGHT back to the gym after my appointment.

So...I know I said that I was officially showing, but I'm not really that much. My stomach is shaped differently...it's just ever-so-slightly convex. BARELY though. I mean...it's even smaller than it was last week...I guess because I haven't been as bloated, ha-gross. Anyway- pics WILL COME. I'm serious. Brian and I have a goal to go through every single box by Thanksgiving, so the cable has GOT to show up somewhere.

Lastly, I have a prayer request for a friend of mine. She and her husband have been trying to get pregnant for a LONNNG time, without success. It's really been a trying time for them, especially with so many couples around them getting pregnant, having babies, etc... Just keep them in your prayers! Pray for patience, faithfulness, and for a BABY!!

Love you guys...hope your week has been fantabulous. Ew...I don't like that word..it just popped out.

15 Weeks

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!

PS- We keep meeting people who's "best friend/sister/cousin" just named their baby the SAME names that we have tentatively picked out!! grr...

PPS- Brian did 2 online Chinese Sex Predictions (which have been SWORN to work by many of his friends...right...) and they have BOTH said "girl". We shall see...

These are my confessions...

Everytime I think/hear/say the word "confession," I STILL get the Usher song stuck in my head...

I had planned on posting a couple of book reviews, one of which I have been meaning to recommend to everyone forEV. But, due to my recent activities, I am in dire need of a confessional...

On Monday evening, while Brian was working out with a buddy, I got out all of our Christmas decor and decorated our whole house for Christmas!!!! Hahaha...I know we're still a few weeks out from THANKSGIVING, but I just couldn't resist. I LOVE the holiday season. And having red & green, santas, and snowmen everywhere overwhelms me with joy no matter WHAT kind of day I'm having. For real. Plus, this year my fam (Rachey, Rand, Rileton, & Reidster) are coming to Tyler to stay with B and me to celebrate our Christmas. And I. AM. PUMPED. I justified my early decor by saying I needed an early start to see what else we'll need for the big weekend! Um...I think I have allowed myself PLENTY of time to stock up on anything we're missing. And I automatically lifted the spirits in our household. It's awesome.

YAYYYY for CHRISTMAS TIME!!!

PS- Brian and I officially heard our first Christmas carol of the season at Academy last Friday. Seriously...they start earlier and earlier every year. So, why not follow the trend?

Have an awesome week!

Rand in Kentucky + Baby Update

So this weekend was my pops' 53rd bday (Nov.8). He and my momma ventured up to Kentucky to watch Rileton play, and in order to make my dad's bday extra-special, Rachey planned a big surprise for the the Randster. She flew Brian, me and Reidy-boo (all the way from Cali!) up to meet them at the Louisville airport. It was awesome. Rand was shocked and super pumped, and we had an awesome weekend! Riles' team was supposed to win, hands-down, as they are nationally ranked and always at the top of their conference...however, this weekend they experienced a major upset loss, and poor Rileton had to leave the game with a concussion. SAD :( Besides the football woes, every minute was great...the first Curry-Fam reunion since the SUMMER in Galvy!! Kentucky is absolutely gorgeous at this time of year. It seriously looked like a postcard in every direction. The college campus where the football game took place, Centre College, was in Danville, Kentucky and looked like a movie setting. The north is actually good for something, ha :)

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend! Brian and I are heading to The Shoog this weekend because he has a business conference, I have Schwinnybabe's bach-ette party, AND i have to make a special delivery to the Future-Mrs-Nug-Girod since I was unable to attend her shower due to a last minute illness :(

Have a great week!

Update on the pictoral sitch: I CANNOT FIND THE FLIPPIN CABLE to connect my camera to the computer, so I can't upload pics right now. My poor little Macbook went out on me, and we have no Apple Store here, so I have to wait til THAT gets fixed to get any pics on here for you guys. If all else fails, I'll load some pics while I'm home in the Shoog this weekend. :)

BABY UPDATE:

(from last Friday)

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

I got in!!

Soooo... I don't think I ever mentioned that I am OFFICIALLY accepted to UT Tyler's nursing program starting in January. YAYYY!!!! I can't wait to get rollin' with this thing :) It's crazy to think that, come January, I'll be a full-time student again. And then, right at the end of the semester, I'll be busting out a child. WHOA.

On that note- I am officially SHOWING! It's not like...an actual baby-bump. But I had 2 different ppl at work today tell me that they can see it! And Brian said the same thing...he was watching me vaccuum and he spotted the chunk :) Basically, I just look a little tubby in the stomach region. Where my belly used to be flat, it is no longer so. Kind of exciting!

No worries

I feel like the only thing I have heard all day long is how scared and angry people are that Obama is soon to be the President of the United States. It's realllyyy starting to wear on me, I guess because I cannot totally relate. I am not suffering from that same fear. Sure, there are policies that I'm not a fan of. Some that I am even somewhat anxious about, should they actually go into effect. However, I don't believe that Obama is an evil man. In fact, I believe he's a Christian man with a good heart. He may have me fooled. I don't know. There's no way I can know. Only God knows, really.

Anyway, I know that the future of our country, our lives, our freedom, and our children is something that can be incredibly scary, considering how NOT in control we are. BUT, even though it's not always easy, God STILL tells us not to worry. Just pray and trust in His grace and mercy. It doesn't guarantee that things will go the way we want them to. It doesn't guarantee that things will be easy, or only slightly difficult. Times could become miserably trying, but God still tells us not to worry about tomorrow, for it will worry about itself. All things work together for HIS glory. We are in GOD's hands. Regardless of who the president is...Bill Clinton, G Dub, Obama... God is in control. That's pretty comforting, if you ask me :) Why don't we unite behind our president...our country...God? ONE NATION UNDER GOD, right?

Got gas?

Can I just say that my morning drive to work has taken on a drastic change...

For the previous year or so, I have become steadily more depressed the closer I get to work every morning. With each mile that passes, another giant gas station sign slapped me in the face with its ugly, ugly pricing. The sickness in the pit of my stomach grew with each passing mile, as I was one mile closer to having to REFILL THE STUPID GAS TANK!!

Wellllll...now I find complete and utter JOY in my early-morning drives. Instead of dreading the increase in price that I was destined to see at LEAST every few days, I now look forward to seeing how much the gas price drops each week. Today, the lowest I passed (which also conveniently happened to be RIGHT by our house) was $2.17!! How can I help but sport a massive grin the entire way to work!?

I realize that the ever-dropping gas prices are a reflection of our plummeting economy. However, to be honest, the acute effect that gas prices have on my life easily outweighs the bummer of our present economic state. I feel perfectly content with experiencing instant moments of bliss at the expense of the US economy. i am less annoyed with having to drive to and from work twicea day, which in turn makes me more excited about being at work, which results in me doing a better job! I am more motivated to use the miles to get to and from school on class days, which makes me a better student :) I am less reluctant to go to the grocery store during the day, which I am positive that Brian appreciates... So, I choose to temporarily ignore our economy's struggles, and focus on the HAPPIER things in life...

YAY FOR DROPPING GAS PRICES!!

163bpm

We got to hear the heartbeat yesterday!! I am exactly 11 wks. and 6 days...tomorrow will be the OFFICIAL end of my first trimester... CUH-RAY-ZEEEEE! I seriously can't believe it. Time flies like crazy the older I get...and I'm not even old yet! It's nearing the year 2009, which is just ridiculous. Wow.

Anyway, it's crazy to think that there exists a little bitty 2-inch baby inside of me, with a heart that's probably the size of a PEA that is pumped at 163bpm. THAT, my friends, is nuts. I love it :) The doc said my uterus is barrrrely starting to pop out of my pelvis, so the bump should start it's massive growth session here pretty soon.

I'll post some pics of our new house soon! Promise. We are supposed to get internet today, so that should speed the process along :) My life is a wreck without constant internet access. As pathetic as it sounds, it's all too true. :)

Still no internet...

So I'm sitting in the trainer's office at the gym, stealing internet. (I'm a criminal too, Kayla) This weekend was the bommmmmb. The UT game was amazing. The stadium is UNREAL. I've been in that thing a million times, but the new closed off seating is insane. SO loud. Crazy atmosphere. THe setup is better. I mean...sweet. TOtally sweet. Me and Riles has a blast. Plusssss, I had a super great time hangin with the fam (minus B and Reidster) in San A, I got to see Dougie and Vickster at Riles game!!! AND my Nana and Pawpaw randomly decided to come up to San A at the last second. Great weekend :)

Props to my hubling who shot a 74 on Friday in Dallas! My dad totally didn't believe him when he called to tell me...he grabbed the phone and started quizzing him. It was quite hilar. I'm so proud :) He and his buddies then proceeded to win their tourney! Go team!

Brian is out for boy's night/MNF (I don't know why those 2 things always seem to coincide...there ARE females out there who love MNF too!) so, he rented me a movie (BABYMAMA!!) and I'm stoked to go home, prop my feet up, eat a cookies'n'cream ice cream sandwich and INDULGE.

Haven't gotten a chance to look at your pics, Mer, but I love you and I'm glad you guys had the greatest time ev. Wish I coulda seen it all!

OH!! And congrats Blackburnssss!!!!!!!!! JOSIAH is freaking beautiful! Super happy it went well and everyone is healthy and happy...and good-looking never hurt anyone either.

My windshield is broken.

Soo... I didn't post about LOTS of things I was planning on posting. For example... the Longhorns defeated the #1 team in the nation last weekend, the Sooners, to take over the nation's #1 ranking... AWESOME :) Not only did we win, but it was a superrrrr tremendously entertaining game to watch. Both teams looked great. Lots of offense. Pure bliss :)

Also, Brian's parentals were in town helping us out with the move and mayyyannnn they killed it! We got everything moved. Seriously. Everything. Except the air mattress we slept on in the apartment at the beginning of this week while waiting for the elec/water to be turned on at our house. We have now spent 2 terrific nights in our casa and it is just delightful :) Once I get things a little bit more unpacked I'll take some pics.

Annnnnd- I called to get TV/phone/internet connected and um...their first available date was almost 2 weeks away! Boo. So B and I are TVless, INTERNETless and living the simple life for the week. I mean seriously, WHAT did we do before these amazing technological discoveries. I feel ridiculous, but I seriously feel dazed and confused.

My (& Brian's) co-ed vball team is super fun. GOSH I love volleyball. I totally miss sand volleyball, as it is NOT the most popular thing to do here in Tyler, but indoor is a perfectly acceptable replacement. I even have cool knee pads like the big girls wear, ha.

We go back to the doctor next Wednesday! I'm excited to hear the heartbeat. Yay :) Hopefully they'll give us some more pics and maybe even an awesome 4 second video, haha. We got pics last time, but it looked like a little nut in a heap of black and white swirls. Not the most exciting thing to look at...not quite post-worthy.

I am P-U-M-P-E-D for this weekend. Brian and I are going our separate ways (bummer), but I get to see my paretals (I haven't seen my dad in 3 months!) and Rileton (whom I have also not seen for 3 months...gay) and my mom who I have only seen 1 time in those 3 months. GEEZ. Uncool. On top of just seeing the fam, I get to attend Rileton's fball game on Saturday, meet his roomies, see his new house, and THEN...he's coming with me to ATX for the UT v. Mizzou fball game!!!! So excited. Hopefully we'll be watching the Horns defend their #1 ranking. I haven't seen Banana or Tbaby in AGES, so that will be terrif. The only downer is that Magen will be outta town that weekend...so no Moo... she'll be at home celebrating her 24th bday and hopefully welcoming her very first nephew into the world!

I'm NOT thrilled about driving a million hours alone, but the fabbbulous nature of the trip makes it all worth while :)

Shout out to the Blackburn fam...I assume that little Josiah has taken his first breath, and just know that I am PRAYING for you guys and thinking about you and am sooooo excited that your son is finally OUT of your belly and in your arms :)

K...I gotta go meet the windshield guy. My windshield got demolished by a golf ball. I guess it was a farewell gift from the lovely folks at our old apartment. Awesome.

Change gonna come...

We signed on our house today!! IT'S OFFICIALLY OURS YIPPPEEEEEE!! So, this weekend the Bradfords are coming to town to help us get to steppin' on the moving process. Yay/not fun...but SUPER fun since it means we get to be in our first house. Gotta pick out paint colors and all that fun stuff too...ahh! Big decisions!

On Monday, I all of a sudden woke up feeling back to my old self again! No nausea, no queeziness...just sleepiness, which is SO totally do-able :) I'm super happy to have my (somewhat) normal appetite back and my face clear of the greenish shade that was becoming normal...

Brian and I are doing the Alzheimer's Walk tomorrow night and the weather has been GOOORRRRRGEOUS...so I'm pumped :) Plus, I haven't worked out for the last month, so I'm super anxious to get some activity back into my life!

My parentals come home from their 2-week jet-setting trip tomorrow and I'm EXCITED because it means I get to talk to them on the phone again. I miss them.

I'm gonna be in Austin the weekend of the 18th and I am THRILLED! I miss that place and haven't been back in forev. PLUS I get to go see Rileton, meet his roommates, and spend Saturday night at his new casa. Fun times. Can't wait. Pray for his hammy...he's having issues...and hamstring issues are NEVER good.

Kerbey is going to become an outside dog (for the most part) when we move, and I honestly think she might go into slight depression. She has become the ULTIMATE snuggler again...just like she was when she was a puppy. When no one else is around, allllll she wants to do (literally) is lay in our laps, snuggle up in a ball, and lounge. I think she might sense my pregnancy...the change in my hormones or SOMETHING because she literally will NOT get more than 6 inches away from my stomach when I don't push her away. Presh. Our dog is the bomb.

I'm having a slumber party at my new casa sometime after we move for all of the girls at work. I. CAN'T. WAIT. Ahhhh having a house that is entertaining-friendly will be sooooooooooooo terrific! It will change our lives, and Brian and I are pumped. We are already dreaming about the many-a-football watching bash we will host. And our UT-devoted office right by the front door will be the perfect greeting for all our guests.

Hope hump-day is a sign of a GREAT weekend to come for all of you guys. Love :)

House, Baby, Church, Prayer Req!!

Soooo... we didn't close on Tuesday. It all got pushed back to next week because the mortgage company didn't send us some paperwork til the last second...and then said they needed over a week to process all of it...strange. ANYWAY! We had a minor crisis for half a day...but everything is back on track and going smoothly...as far as we know :) The people we're buying the house from have already moved out and they left us a key, so we're gonna go this weekend and kind of come up with a gameplan for moving and the little bit of decorating that we can do right now.... YAY!

Man...today I apparently turned green at work. I was training my 8oclock client, who is also one of my favs, and I all of a sudden started feeling iiiccckkyyyyyy. WHEW. Not good. And then Karla asked me if I was okay...because my face was turning green hahaha. It only lasted about 20 minutes and then I felt a million times better. So weird. I'll DEFINITELY take 20 minute bouts of yuckiness over weeks of daily yackage :) If this is the worst of it, then THANK YOU, LORD!

Okay...so I am COMPLETELY pumped to be preg, but it means I have to put a few things on hold. No indoor soccer league. I have to postpone my triathlon training goal. No Christmas ski trip for the Curry Fam. So...a teeny bummer....but SO okay :) Umm...I'd take a baby over ANY of those things without even blinking :)))

K...about this weekend: I'm super sad that I can't be at Nug's FCCC shower!! :( Brian and I have Race4TheCure this weekend so we'll be up all night on Saturday night. Trag. Sorry Nugling!! B and I WILL, however, get to go to church in Tyler for like...the 3rd week in a row. Um...awwwesommme :) Last week we went to Bethel Bible, and really liked it! We'll see. We've narrowed it down to just a select few, so we should be committing to SOMEWHERE before too long. EXCITING.

Rileton has a game in Birmingham this wknd, which is where his ex-girlfriend is at school. I think it will be probably be kind of hard for him to be there, in her territory, ...you know how it is. ANyway- keep him in your prayers!! My parents are in San Diego this week, they're flying home tomorrow, then to Birmingham and back on Saturday, and then off to Mexico for a vacay with some friends on Sunday. Soo....obviously they're doing LOTS of flying. Please keep their safety in your prayers as well.

Okay...tah-tah!

Sleeeppyyyyy....

GOODNESS! I have been so tired lately. Napping everyday is definitely putting a little dent in my productivity level each day... I haven't been able to eat quite as much good healthy food as I should either, but I'm workin on it.

Oh, ps- did I mention that I'm pregnant?? :)))

Brian and I went to the doc on Tuesday and found out that I am due on May 8th. We got to see the little flicker of the heartbeat and everything...super cool! As I mentioned previously... I'm super tired these days... who knew this baby-making business was soooo exhausting?? Everyone has told me about the exhaustion, but I wasn't capable of comprehending it until I felt it. GEEZ!! I'm ready for the 2nd trimester so I'll have my energy back.

Anyway- Brian and I are supposed to close on our house on Tuesday. HOPEFULLY it happens! We were supposed to be in Austin this weekend for the football game, but with my lack of energy and the fact that we are trying to rush 30 days worth of closing into 17...we decided it would be best to stay home and get some important things done.

Last night we went to the "East Texas State Fair" to walk around and get a nice little taste of East Texas...but mostly just to take advantage of the YUMMY FAIR FOOD! I guess my hormones are throwing my eating habits WAY off because most of my fav things have been sounding SUPER nasty these last few weeks...including last night. Brian still got to enjoy plenty of his fair favorites though, AND we ran into one of Brian's old football buddies and his wife...and I think we are totally gonna be good friends :)

K...it's 7:30...definitely approaching my new bedtime... hope things are going well for everyone.

OH!- Brian and I are still church-searching!!! Please throw a prayer up for us. I'm getting frustrated with this process.

The Windy City

Rachey and I spent this past weekend in Chicago. SUCHHHH a great place! Seriously, I totally would LOVE to live there. It's a major city, ON the lake, WITH little beaches on the lake, LOTS of sand volleyball, you can walk pretty much everywhere, tons of teeeerrific shopping, people milling about all over the place....it rocks :) My momma and I stayed right smack in the middle of the "Magnificent Mile" and had a blast eating at cute little cafes, shopping our little hearts out, biking all around the lake and different parks, and just chatting about everything you can imagine. OH! And I was able to check another major stadium off my list: Wrigley Field!! Cool place...really old school :) Cubs fans are amazingly nice! I was impressed.

THANKS MOMMA for a suuuuper great trip. I had a BLAST hanging out with you :) You're the best. Can't wait to do it again! Oh, and thanks again, SO MUCH, for cleaning my kitchen when we got back :)

I don't feel like uploading pics from my camera right now, so I'll post some pics later on.

Umm...we close on our house in a week! Yayyyyyy!!! SO excited!!

The only bad news I have to share is that I lost in BOTH of my fantasy leagues this week. BUMMER. And both by less than 6 points. So flipping annoying.

K, hope everyone is doing really well. Love you all. I hate keeping in touch SOLELY through our blogs, but hey, it's FAR better than losing touch all together :)

Love <3

September 30th is a big day!!

Big news!! Not ONLY is Sep.30th the day my terrific momma was born...but Brian and I close on OUR NEW HOUSE on that very same day!!! YAYYYYYYYY :) Our awesome friend Dave came in from Austin to help us find the place and has been super great in getting all of the contract stuff negotiated. THANKS DAVE!! You're the bomb :)

Keep us in your prayers... barring anything random and UNfortunate, we will start moving our stuff into our very first house in less than 2 weeks.... Superrrrr exciting!!

9/11, Ike, UT football...and stuff :)

Like Jacci said...I can't believe 9/11 was 7 years ago! It's so crazy how uneffected I felt all day until I tried to force myself to muster up some of the feelings I felt back on that day. I remember in the aftermath of that day feeling so comforted by how America had come together. It was really cool. And I ALSO remember wondering how long it would last, knowing that in the coming years...9/11 would become just like every other trying time in our country's history....just that...History. It's kind of sad that we can so quickly forget the "important things" when life gets easy again..or, well...less tragic.

On a brighter note, I do LOVE the way people in the US can pack up, leave their homes & flee for a safer place...and KNOW that there is someone somewhere waiting with open arms to provide them with whatever they need to make it. Pretty cool place we live in, huh?

About this weekend and the whole "Ike" sitch... I'm super thankful that Brian and I aren't really threatened by the most damaging part of the storm, but I'm selfishly BUMMED that the UT game got cancelled and Nug's shower got cancelled too! I was SO looking forward to our first trip in the Atx in months. Oh well...I'm excited for another weekend of laying low at home. And I'm praying for everyone who doesn't have the luxury of a worry-free weekend! Love you guys. To those of you further south: be safe and know that you're in our prayers!

Last thing, my nursing school app is due on Monday! I finally got every last thing done and collected and put together....so application status is now OFFICIAL! yay :) If I get accepted for the spring I would start in January and then have the summer off (UT Tyler doesn't offer summer classes for nursing school or I would be allllll up in that business). Anyway, if I DON'T get accepted for the spring, I would be bumped to the fall...bummer, but oh well. I'm not worried about it because I know that it's all for the best...but I am ANXIOUS to know where I'll be come January!

K... here's to a weekend of couch-lounging, football-watching bliss!

Peace & Love :)

House-Hunting

Our friend from Austin, Dave, is coming in tomorrow to stay with us for a couple of days and to help us in our house-hunting adventure :) YAY! Can't wait.

Hmm...

Sometimes, life feels too easy. Like...I must NOT be doing something because there's not enough struggle happening. Ya know? Am I being a spiritual slacker? I can't figure it out. Maybe God is just blessing me with some peace in my life...or maybe I'm just telling myself that because I'm lazy. I feel like I should be looking for something...but what/where?
...I'm not sure I'll ever know the answer.

Annoying.

Life at the moment...

Started my fall classes today... I'm excited!

A friend from Austin is coming to stay with us this weekend to help us find a house (CJ-we're house-hunting too!) and to watch lotssss and lots of football! I AM SO EXCITED THAT FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE AGAIN!

Brian and I had our drafts for our fantasy leagues this past Friday and Monday...I got pretty decent teams...we'll see how they pan out :)

We're starting our co-ed vball league in 2 weeks....yayyyyyy!!! HOPEFULLY we'll improve on last year's .020 winning percentage!! We've picked up some ringers, so our vball future is looking bright :)

My momma and I are going on a mommy/daughter vacay to Chicago in September! The weekend conflicts with a BIG event...but it was the only weekend of the fall we could coordinate our schedules...I'm pumped.

One of my clients hurt her shoulder prettttty bad yesterday while we were training, and I feel really bad! It's my first on-the-job injury :(

Kerbey is FINALLY out of her diapers. Much cleaner....but I kind of miss watching her waddle miserably around the house ha.

I can't believe it's almost SEPTEMBER!

Reidy-boo is on his way to Cali...I can't believe the baby-bro is a college kid! Geez.

Scarlett and Carson are two of the cutest little munchkins everrrrrrrrrrrrr. AND I really wish I could have seen his head-first dive into the stingray pond!

I got to see T-baby on our way through TheLub last week and it was GREAT! I miss youuuu.

Okay now...big news....brace yourselves...Brian and I are ACTUALLY getting to go visit the church we've been wanting to visit for about 2.5 months now (literally), but have just never been in town to do so. SAD. Awesome. I'm excited! I am prayyyyying that maybe THIS is the place God has been prepping for us for soooo long now :)

K...that's all the excitment I can muster up. Nothin big to report...just life!

Colorado Vacay: Plans A-D

Colorado was a fabbbbulous vacay! It turned out to be not even CLOSE to what we had planned (due to some major inclement weather), but it was still the bomb. We started out at Estes Park and camped out in the NONSTOP rain for about 24 hours...we then packed up our things and headed out to hike to a few different GORGEOUS lakes on our way out of the park. We decided the weather in Estes Park was NOT accommodating our plans, we we would try somewhere further south. We were hoping to spend one night with the Freedes (who were coincidentally vacationing in the same place at the same time that we were!) in their house, but due to a totally inconvenient lack of phone service on both of our parts, we were unable to communicate well enough to make that connection happen. Sad :(

So...we headed out on a 2-hour drive to Idaho Springs where we planned to make our 14er Summit Attempt the next morning. On our way to this teeny little town, the rain let up just enough to reveal the most amazing rainbow Brian and I have EVER seen! Each and every color was BLAZING with clarity, and you could see the full rainbow from one end to the other. Both ends ran straight into the ground...it was completely gorgeous and a super uplifting sight after SO much yuck-weather.

We arrived late that night to our shelter of choice, the Idaho Springs Motel. Umm...STRAIGHT out of a cheesy scary murder movie where everyone dies. Seriously...OLD. SCHOOL. Kind of gross (although nothing indoors seemed gross in comparison with our previous 36 hours). Our next door neighbors were SCREAMING profanities at each other all night long. Still...the BEST 8 hours of sleep I'd had in what seemed like an incredibly long time!

So...all fresh and rested, we headed out on Sunday morning to Echo Lake, the start of our journey to the top of Mt.Evans. The lake was beauuuutiful, the first few hours of the hike were breathtaking, the head of the sun was SUPER welcomed....and then...the nast-weather closed in on us once again. We should have known it was too good to be true. We had our big packs on because we had planned to spend the night at the treeline before getting up early Monday morning to take only our daypacks on the summit trip. Well...once we reached somewhere between 12 & 13000 feet, we found ourselves trapped in an almost-white-out. We debated whether to continue, but decided that DYING on the mountain really didn't sound that excited. We found shelter from the snow-storm under a giant boulder for a while, until it lightened up and then, disappointed, began retracing our steps back down the mountain. For the next 4 hours, we trekked our way through the rain (except for about 30 glorious minutes of sunshine) back down to Echo Lake, where our car was parked. HO. LY. CRAP. At 8:00, when we FINALLY reached the parking lot...we were both COMPLETELY exhausted, thirsty, and a strange combo of in pain & numb. Finally accepting that our plans were a no-go, we headed out of the wilderness once and for all and off to spend the rest of our vacation in civilization. In Colorado Springs, we stayed in a real hotel, ate at real restaurants, engaged in the classic tourist activities such as: mountain horseback riding, giant waterfall watching, souvenir shopping, & Old-Historic-Town strolling. It was delicious :) We even accidentally stumbled across the ORIGINAL Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory...kind cool :)

The drive home was beauuuutiful & we were sad to leave the mountains....but being back home has NEVER felt so good! We are finally staying home this weekend and I couldn't be more excited to have a weekend that does NOT involve a 4-hr drive to&from somewhere :)

Baptism

On Sunday, B and I visited Emily's church to see her get baptized!!!! Yayyyy :)))
I also got to meet Kori, who I have heard so much about. Yay for friends :)

The entire service was devoted to baptism. Apparently their preacher had delivered a super awesome message on baptism the previous week and the response was HUGE! There were at LEAST 50 people baptized that morning...and it's not even a very big congregation! We alternated between worship, and watching one person after another proclaim their faith in Jesus!! HOW could it possibly be any better that? Baptisms are always super exciting/emotional/joyful...but this Sunday was particularly riveting for me. I think I am just SO missing having a church family. I am missing being a part of a body of believers who come together to pour their hearts out to God every Sunday morning. I don't know... I was just sitting there thinking about each one of the people being baptized and how they each had to make the decision to dedicate their lives to Christ. Every single one of them was CHOOSING to make a change in his/her life...to just hand it over to God...it was CRAZY and it was AWESOME and it was EXCITING! This was just one small little church in Tyler, Texas, and 50 MORE PEOPLE joined God's kingdom in an hour! Imagine how many people are turning to God every day in all the rest of Tyler...in East Texas...in Texas....in the US in general.

I felt moved and encouraged and just REALLY excited about God after experiencing that. It was a blessing. It was awesome.

Congrats to my girl, Em...I'm EXCITED about how excited YOU are about what God's doing in your life and in your heart. And PS- those blonde locks are lookin goooood, girl :)

History in the Making

Holy. Freaking. Crap.

The US men just freaking smashed the world record for the 4x100 free relay. And the anchor swimmer pulled off a freaking amazing swim. Seriously. Even if you don't watch the Olympics or don't like swimming or whatever...WATCH IT. Ridic.

So...2 down, 6 to go for Michael Phelps. I have to admit, I said I didn't think he'd do it. Maybe 8 medals...but not 8 golds. Um...I TOTALLY wouldn't put it past him.

Craazzzyyyyyyyyy!!

And here's your olympic image (or 2) of the day :P

Summer Olympics!!

ahhh I love the summer Olympics. They've only been airing for a couple of days, and I'm already hooked alllll over again. There's nothing like watching athletes, who have trained to reach their very highest performance potential, swim/tumble/bump-set-spike for their country. It's pretty awesome.

Michael Phelps is a freak of nature. Seriously. This guy is unreal. AND...he somehow seems like a toootally and completely normal, not to mention cool, guy! He appears to have maintained his humility as well, which is pretty amazing considering that the entire country worships him. And then there's Dara Torres...holyyy.... A 41-year old ANCHORING the USA's Free Relay? Are you serious!? And she had the 2nd fastest split time of ANY OTHER SWIMMER...not just from the US, but from any other country. That's INSANE. and awesome. How can you NOT be completely enthralled by such feats?

I love the gymnastics...girls haven't started yet but I can't WAIT. I think swimming & gymnastics are prob my fav...although anytime Lebron James is on a basketball court, I'm all over it :) We have our DVR set to record any time the Olympics come on to ensure that we won't miss a thing :) YAY!

PS- Did anyone else see the Opening Ceremonies? Umm...I sooo wish I could have been there in person. China's technology is ridiculous.

I seriously want to wear red, white, blue every single day right now. I guess the Olympics totally bring out my cheesy side. What can I say? I heart the Olympics!
GO USA!!

It's Wednesday

I LOVE WEDNESDAY!!! Why? wellll....bc I LOVE "So You Think You Can Dance". Umm....Best. Show. Ever. Or...at least one of them. for realllssss...

Anywho- our cute little puppy, Kerbey Lane, is growing up!! She has officially become a woman...and a much younger age than expected (bummer). The poor little thing is going through puberty hahaha. She lays around the house all day groaning (I think she has cramps) and sleep a ton. And um...she has to wear a diaper. Hahahahha....when I came in from work today I laughed for about 30 minutes. It's the cutest/most hilarious thing ever. We just have to put up with this for a year until we can breed her with Jesse's boxer. They will make some studly little boxer babies :)

So tomorrow night I'm doing my friend Emily's hair. Sooo excited!!! I mean, of course I still color my own hair, but I haven't done anyone else's in FOREV and I miss it! So, I'm pretty stoked. I get to pretend to be a hair stylist for a day. Woo.

OH!! and Emily's getting baptized on Sunday too!! SUPERRRR cool. I'm excited that I'll ACTUALLY be here to see it! We were supposed to be leaving for Colorado on Saturday, but plans have changed at the last minute. What was going to be a 6-person trip has withered down to a 2-person trip. BUT...it will be the BOMB for sure :)

K...love you all...gotta finish watching my show and dreaming about becoming an amazing dancer when I grow up :)

La-Dee-Dah

Kerbey just ate my sandwich. ANNOYING. I've been rushing around this morning because i had a few hours with no clients. Sooooo...I came home and have been getting some MUCH NEEDED chores done around the house. I planned everything perfectly to the MINUTE so that I would get the last load of laundry into the dryer, get my lunch made, & finish my assignment before I had to leave for class. Everything was going perfectly...until my not-so-cute-at-the-moment little canine struck!!

She seriously downed that baby in abour 4.5 seconds. No lie. (It MUST have been a delicious sandwich) So...I had to take the time to get her in trouble. THEN I had to take the time to make another sandwich. And by THAT time I was sweating so I had to change clothes because these are the clothes I'll be stuck in for the next 6 hours. Anywho- I'm already running late for class, so I'm just gonna wait to show up until our halfway break, at which time I can inconspicuously sneak in without anyone (particularly my professor) noticing I was late :)

In other news, Brian's 3-on-3 bball team won their championship and his full-court team has the championship on Thursday night. The final game won't be until 10:00PM if they make it that far. Um....I know I'm only 23, but I'm ALREADY too old for such a late night. Ha...most of the guys on his team are in their 30s and 40s...so I KNOW they're too old for it. We're leaving straightaway after his game to head to the Shoog and then the Curry familia is off to Galvey for the weekend!! Cannnnn't wait to see the fam OR to get some ocean in my life :0)

Oh...and the MOST exciting part about this weekend is.....

NICKYBABE IS GETTING MARRRIIIIEEEEEEDDDD!!! I'm so excited to see him in his tux...standing next to his bride :) It's crazy to even think about it. PLUS, Dane-o and Seanpack will be there too (Sean's bringing his new fiancee)....so all-in-all, I think this will be a STELLAR weekend :)

I hope everyone is doing super well. Jacci- I don't know a thing about the vaccination stuff, but I am totally learning from all of your experiences, so when B and I have a little munchkin, prepare yourself for TONS of advice-seeking phone calls :)

Hollaaaa <3

The City that Never Sleeps...

SO...last week Brian was in New York for work, and I was at home working and going to school. WOO! It was a tough week for me! I felt like I had NO time to breathe...and I missed the hub. BUT, my momma came to visit me on Wednesday afternoon, so I cancelled my afternoon clients and my Thursday late morning so we could hang out. It was a grannnnnd old time :) I have MISSED my fam! I haven't gotten to spend time with them in forev! Thanks for coming, mommy :)

On Friday morning, I flew out to NYC to meet B for the a fun little weekend getaway. We went to Central Park for loonnnng time on Friday. I'm pretty sure if I lived in NYC I would LIVE at Central Park. There were people hanging out eating ice cream, throwing the frisbee, laying out in their bikinis gettin their tan on, playing random music, painting AMAZING portraits...it was awesome and it made me MISS Austin. I never thought NYC would remind me of Austin, ha. We went to a dif museum...the Metropolitan..pretty cool. Brian loved it because he's all into that ancient history kind of stuff. We went to see Phantom of the Opera (amazing, OF course..the phantom's voice made me melt), went back to the classic Magnolia Bakery for some TREMENDOUS cupcakes, did some hard-core bartering in china-town (one of my fav parts, always) and ...drumroll please..... WENT TO A GAME @ YANKEE STADIUM!!!!

I have always been a sportsfan and one of my "list of things to do" is to attend a game at every major league baseball stadium. Well...it's kind of changed to just a few of the major stadiums...but HOW could I not attend a game at Yankee stadium with all of the historical events that have taken place there!? After this season, they're tearing it down...so this was my last chance...and B made it happen. :))))) I WAS EXCITED! It was awesome. We sat in the bleachers with a bunch of people who are there for EVERY homegame in the same spot. There was a group of about 9 old men behind us who were decked out head to toe, are all bffs, pretty much act like they're bffs with the players, and most of them had their own personal scorebook in which they kept track of every little step of the game in a perfectly flawless way. Ha...they were um...hardcore. It was a very cool environment. But I can't lie...the Yanks are the ONE TEAM that I could NOT break down and buy a t-shirt to wear to the game. NOT a Yankee fan and NEVER will be. (Unless of course...I move to NYC...sad, I know.)

Brian and I had a splendid getaway and had a super fun time just hanging out together all weekend long. I love my hubbyyyy :))) annnnd, I love NEW YORK!

OH! I broke down and bought a camera battery charger so we ACTUALLY took some pics! Please enjoy :)

Lunch @ ESPN Zone...love it.
Onnnn the subway. I love public transportation. For real. Brian doesn't totally agree with me on that one.

Sex&theCity IS good for something...they introduced me to the DELECTABLE cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery

@ The Majestic to see Phantom
How cool would it be to play a softball game in Central Park? Super cool view :)

Me: superrrrr excited to be @ Yankee Stadium! B: super excited about how much we paid for tickets ha
