Sleep ISSUES!!

Aves has been a champion sleeper since she was 3 weeks old.  NEVER had to do any kind of sleep training/ferber type of stuff.  She just slept.  I had to wake her up in the middle of the night to feed her!  It was awesome...and HAS BEEN awesome for the last 22.5 months.  Well, ever since we got back from Galvy my little one has been STRUH.GUH.LING.  Once we returned from Austin this past wknd, we are finally home all together everynight for the rest of the week, so we are busting out some Ferber method up in this joint.  Poor Aves.  I feel bad doing it @ the age of almost 2.  It seems meaner when they can cry out your name.  She is fighting hard, but we're on night #3, and the process was significantly shorter tonight.  We shall see.  I miss seeing this...

...within 10 minutes of putting her in bed!

Speaking of Ferber action...we did this with Camo @ about 4.5 months...once the colicky stuff ended (which coincidentally happened at the same time that we switched to formula...hmm...).  Worked like a charm, and we've never looked back!  Nightnight time is super pleasant for little Camerton {and us...usually}.

One super-cute thing we've discovered via this minor sleep-related drama is how in tune with each other the girls are!  Avery wakes up every morning asking for Camo.  She goes down easier when we let her say night-night to her baby seester.  If Camo hears Aves crying, she cries intensely for about 4 seconds in approx 1-min increments...just to let Aves know she feels her pain.  It's kind of hilarious & sad & adorable all wrapped into one.  Love my little nuggets!

Pack'n'Play

I spent my day packing up for our weekend in Lufkin. It's always a challenge to keep the munchkins entertained enough to allow time to get everyone packed! My parentals are taking Avery Sunday night through Wed night when we arrive in SL for T-giv, sooo for Aves I was packing for 10 days and 3 different locations! My sweet little ones were champs and we were able to hit the road on schedule! That never happens. Thank you, Lord, for jumperoos, high chairs, and the Backyardigans!!

Hope everyone has a superfab wknd!

15 Weeks

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!

PS- We keep meeting people who's "best friend/sister/cousin" just named their baby the SAME names that we have tentatively picked out!! grr...

PPS- Brian did 2 online Chinese Sex Predictions (which have been SWORN to work by many of his friends...right...) and they have BOTH said "girl". We shall see...

Rand in Kentucky + Baby Update

So this weekend was my pops' 53rd bday (Nov.8). He and my momma ventured up to Kentucky to watch Rileton play, and in order to make my dad's bday extra-special, Rachey planned a big surprise for the the Randster. She flew Brian, me and Reidy-boo (all the way from Cali!) up to meet them at the Louisville airport. It was awesome. Rand was shocked and super pumped, and we had an awesome weekend! Riles' team was supposed to win, hands-down, as they are nationally ranked and always at the top of their conference...however, this weekend they experienced a major upset loss, and poor Rileton had to leave the game with a concussion. SAD :( Besides the football woes, every minute was great...the first Curry-Fam reunion since the SUMMER in Galvy!! Kentucky is absolutely gorgeous at this time of year. It seriously looked like a postcard in every direction. The college campus where the football game took place, Centre College, was in Danville, Kentucky and looked like a movie setting. The north is actually good for something, ha :)

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend! Brian and I are heading to The Shoog this weekend because he has a business conference, I have Schwinnybabe's bach-ette party, AND i have to make a special delivery to the Future-Mrs-Nug-Girod since I was unable to attend her shower due to a last minute illness :(

Have a great week!

Update on the pictoral sitch: I CANNOT FIND THE FLIPPIN CABLE to connect my camera to the computer, so I can't upload pics right now. My poor little Macbook went out on me, and we have no Apple Store here, so I have to wait til THAT gets fixed to get any pics on here for you guys. If all else fails, I'll load some pics while I'm home in the Shoog this weekend. :)

BABY UPDATE:

(from last Friday)

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
