'I wish' .... I was going on vacation tomorrow, and I would want to go...
on a backpacking trip to Colorado!
The coming of Fall has gotten me super pumped about the dropping temp, which has left in me an emptiness that can ONLY be satisfied by the beautiful Rocky Mountains!!
Last yr, B & I attempted a week-long backpacking excursion into the beautiful Colorado wilderness. We just HAPPENED to plan our trip for the ONE WEEK that involved monsoon-like rains and snowstorms at altitude. BUMMER. The weather definitely foiled our plans, but all was not lost. After a 8-hr descent immediately following our 10-hr ascent (I don't think I've been so spent in ALL my life!) we ventured back down to Colorado Springs and spent an incredible few days there. However, we left with an even GREATER hunger for some mountain wilderness, some exhausting hikes, and a beautiful summit-view!
