Baby Food

Okay so- Avery is now 8.5 months old and she pretty much hates eating baby food out of a spoon now.  Her dislike has progressively gotten worse...but she is sooooo happy to eat ANYTHING that is somewhat solid and involved feeding herSELF.  I'm thinking that today may mark the END of babyfood for Averton.   We'll prob just stick to real fruits/veggies/starches at this point (& the bottle of course).
That's okay right?

BUT- with no teeth...meat in baby-food-form is really the only option, right?

Our Dr. said that same thing would happen...they'll just stop eating baby food and thats the end of it...Whoo hoo!!!! Basically the formula is their main source of vitamins and such for a while. From what I hear, it really doesn't matter if you don't get all of their veggie, protein etc...servings a day. She'll live! I can't believe she's almost 9 months...time is flying by us isn't it?!! xoxo

rox- she can probably gum real tender meat such as lunch meat from the deli, ground beef or turkey, and maybe even chicken or fish stick type stuff...just cut it real small...josiah only has front teeth and he eats all kinds of meat and mainly just gums it. you could give her beans for protein too! i loved it when josiah made the switch to table food, once i figured out what he could eat it made things so much easier. meat in spaghetti or casseroles where it is surrounded by moist stuff helps josiah eat it easier sometimes. also meat in a crock pot gets real tender! you can just try different things with her and see if she can do it or not! good luck!

I'm not there yet, so I don't know. Good luck though! I'm so excited to start baby food with Cady soon.
